Need help......

My dad loves writing. He uses words to put across his strong viewpoints. There must've been tons of letters to the newspaper editors by now. I've been saying that people blog now. It's after all got more readerships. He's never been a computer person though and is skeptical. What can change his mind?

Suggest 2 things:

1) Set up a blog for him here. It can take only a few minutes and is free. It is also very easy to use

It doesn't work for some people.

If your father is not familiar with a keyboard he will find the whole experience frustrating, and lots of people need a pen in their hand to help them think, strangely.

I'm not sure that blogs do reach a larger target than national newspapers. I don't read any blogs at all.

Have to agree with Ethel about blog readership.

A newspaper already has a readership so writing to it gets to that audience straight away.

But there are about 100 million bogs (give or take) and to get people visiting your blog is difficult (they have to have a reason).

Having said that, setting up a blog with blogger can do no harm and may get him into computers.

generally strong viewpoints is a euphemism (troll is already in use round here ;)

if you are looking to keep him out of your hair .... question time is on sundays ... and that awful ..... ly nice mr dimbelby
takes calls and e-mails.

actually setting him up with a blog is the internet equivalent of making him sit in an empty room with the curtains drawn .... facing a corner ..... go for it ... blogspot is probably a good start ....

if you want to be really horrible ... introduce him to AB .....
that would serve all of us right
