why do you want to change?
go back to the home hub - if it worked .....
(and you are paying for it)
it's actually quite a decent piece of kit
.... what do you expect the new one to do extra?

wireless or ethernet
what O/s
Also if there is no green light for internet that means the PPP authentication isn't working.

i.e. you have either got the username or password wrong or
are using the wrong encapsulation/Multiplexing or
VCI/VPI settings are wrong

we bought the netgear router because we have just bought laptops for the children and they will be using them upstairs .so we thought we needed something better than a basic home hub. have solved the problem anyway. typed ipconfig /release , then ipconfig /renew into the command prompt and it found an ip address ,so now the netgear works
well done .... on the fix - a "proper" job ;0

I use a home hub (the V2 "new" white one(g) - not the even newer black jobbie (n)) in preference to my old linksys router

I find the configuration is more straight forward ... the firewall security is better and the wireless coverage is stronger + it's fully compatible with the other BT services.
