how do I stop my computer "clicking"

every so often it clicks and part of a web page half appears, saying unable to whatever.

Is it to do with enabling cookies.


I am not too good at this sort of thing.

I am assuming you are using IE as your browser.

As you haven't used your computer for some time (you said that in another post):

Make sure you have the latest IE - click 'Help - about' - you should have IE8

Now click 'tools - internet options'
Click the privacy tab and adjust the slider to 'medium' if it is 'high'
The click is Windows default sound for "start navigation" or "complete navigation". In other words you might get it everytime a new window starts to load or completes loading. Go to control panel and sounds then change "new and start navigation" to "none" This will remove the annoying click you're getting.
