Zone Alarm prob ?

I installed Zone ALarm free this morning , configured it as asked with various programs as I opened them . Turned laptop off an hour ago only to find when I turned it back on that the boot process goes normally until it gets to the welcome screen. Stays there for about 30 seconds then goes black for another 30 then briefly flashes up my desktop with startup sound .then switches off , then on again with the 'Windows did not shut down normally ....safe mode/ safe .........start windows normally .'
I started it normally as I'm not familliar with the others & now it just cycles through the sequence non-stop .
Don't know if this is ZA related but I've done nothing unusual today.
I have Avast! Spybot , adaware all of which I update & run regularly .
Help please ??

Let Windows start in Safe Mode. (That's what it's there for). When it does, shut down your laptop, wait 10 seconds and then reboot it. That might fix the problem. If it doesn't, enter Safe Mode again and run System Restore.

Running System Restore (and choosing a date before you installed Zone Alarm) will efectively uninstall Zone Alarm. You can either re-install it or, if you'd rather avoid Zone Alarm, try it's main (free) rival, Comodo:

Thanks Chris , used system restore in the end , having done it I think I had done it before, just went into panic mode . Seems ok now , although I had to start Firefox in safe mode as well to get here .
Hopefully all is well now !
