tv screen gone green

The other day the tv screen went green we thought the tv was on its way out so bought a new one then the old tv fixed itself but we decided to keep the new one - had it two days and the screen was green this morning - whatever can it be - dvd plugged in and sky plus too could it be the sky+ Anyone have a clue ?????

check the scart lead (s) are in properly ...I had this with the kids tv's , one minute ok then green screen , new sets so was a tad baffled at first .

As scanner says, this is almost certainly a problem with the SCART connector - either not properly inserted (very common, because the design is such crap) or a faulty connection in the plug or socket.

Magnets would cause blurring of the colours (though not if it's an LCD or Plasma), but not a consistently green picture.

if it's not the scart then unplug the tv and leave it unplugged for about an hour and then plug back in and turn on.

This will normally force a degauss on most TV's which might sort the colours out.

Maybe you didn't notice chuck, but the question seems to indicate that the problem exists on both the old TV and the new one, which implies that the problem is not with the telly itself.
