i have a lattop hp compaq nx6310. and i am on winxp platform now. but i cant setup the audio driver. how can i do? audio device shows " no sound" and pci device was not identfy in device megament. . i think i need to motherboard modem and audio drivers. i found them. please help.

download and run the driver file from HP and it will set it up for you

i seuped chpset also. but anyway. what mus i do more?

there are 3 different drivers for audio on that link, which one did you download? or try all 3 if you want, it won't hurt.

also is this a fresh install or has the sound just stopped working?

i had already installed all (3) driver. but everytime given me message " not found audio device" and stoped install. i installed chipset driver for nx6310. i found that in hp websites.

i think, i need to motherboard driver. i also installed that. but anyway. no sound. pci device is not installed.

how can i update my chipset or motherboard driver? or what must i do more?

you shouldn't need any other drivers apart from the audio ones to get the sound working.

is this a fresh install of windows, was it working before. can we have a little background on this please?

Don't you need to ensure that the PCI bridge is installed before installing the sound drivers?
