MS Security Updates - MS Antivirus 2009
4 Answers
Has anyone installed MS Antivirus 2009, which comes with the latest updates? I've had to uninstall it because it wouldn't let me access any web sites, as it said they were all a threat, including this one. They get on my nerves MS. They just do this without any prior warnings. Is there something I should be doing to the settings once it's installed?

???
Last time I used it (on the office computer at a club that I was working out) I just downloaded and installed it and it did it stuff. it will do the removal if you use the free version; the paid version adds "live" protection etc.
MW Bytes isn't (AFAIK) anything to do with Spyware doctor.
You can't uninstall MS Antivirus with it's own uninstaller because it is a con to get you to buy its "removal" facilities (which won't remove much). Please note it is NOT from Microsoft.
It is possible to manually remove MS Antivirus (if you're happy with digging around in the registry) - http://www.windowsvistaplace.com/antivirus2009 -antivirus-2009-removal-instructions/spyware-r emoval . Otherwise use Malware Bytes or a similar product (there's at least one listed in the above link).
