Laptop question...
7 Answers
I may not be able to get back to this until tomorrow, but could anyone please suggest what might be happening to make my son's new laptop keep crashing. Not being very adept with computers, I'm sorry if this's the wrong expression., but he logs onto ebuddy (sp?) because he can't sign into MSN, and after a couple of minutes, the screen freezes. He reboots, but it happens again, and the same when he tries to browse. His new laptop's a Philips widescreen multi media notebook, with Vista installed, if that's any help, and that and my desktop are running off a wireless router. My own computer shows no signs of any problem at the moment, but my son's just keeps freezing up, even if he's in the same room. It was working fine at first (Christmas Day & yesterday) but now this. Any (easy) suggestions please? Thanks.

How would I check if the suggested settings are too high, and what IS high, anyway? I haven't a clue I'm afraid, and the person who usually helps is now away on holiday, so I'm trying to rectify the problem before too much disappointment sets in.

Good afternoon again. First chance I've had to get back on here. Right - Firefox - I'm sorry, the download screen comes up, so it appears appears to download, but then won't open up. We're not sure how to get it there.
We're using Drivesentry (?) and AVG free home edition, and yes, have Vista installed.
We've run a scan every day since Christmas Day, and haven't found anything to be concerned about. Do you think adding Spybot S & D might be advisable?
Thanks for your continued help. Let me know if I'm not being articulate enough, but I'm having difficulty in explaining this properly.
