Select Tools | Internet Options from the Internet
 Explorer menu.

Go to the Programs tab.

Make sure Hotmail is selected for E-mail.

Click OK.

but then ,when I try again, its back to Outlook Express --aarrgghhh ! What do
I do now?

I just tried it and it worked. Try clicking on apply, and then ok coz that's what I did.

Ah JJ you gave me hope then -did i always forget to click on apply? maybe ... but alas.... no luck.

This has been driving me mad for ages .I have never used OE -so why does it love me so????

Hotmail is not a program, it's a website. You can configure Outlook express to download and send your hotmail messages to though but not for much longer unless you subscribe to their premium package

I never even considered the fact that Hotmail wasnt a program Gandy . Thanks for that .

But I wonder why it is listed as a program on the email tab - and why (when I used Opera ) did Opera mail open when that was first on the list?

Ah -computers -gotta love em.
