I think I know what you mean about a printer that takes compatible ink, is it that you want one that takes cheaper shops own brand ink cartridges? as opposed to branded ones. You will need to check out your supermarkets charts showing the equivalents if you know what I mean, and then decide for yourself. You could always post another question asking for peoples opinions on the subject.
