Quick Time & Silverlight Download
3 Answers
I bought a new laptop with Vista Home Premium. I wantede to waqtch something on ITV's iplayer. When selecting the programme it seemed to suggest I needed to download Microsoft Silverlight - so I clicked on it. But everytime I click on a TV prog to watch, it stll comes up with the Silverlight download prompt. The same thing has happended when trying to watch a movie trailer on a cine3ma website. It said I needed to download Quick Time, so I went through the process, but the same thing happens each time I click to view the trailer. It's as if the download has not been fully "activated". The two downloads appear in my downloads folder. Is there a next stage to get the PC to work with them? Thanks in advance

Some programs begin the install straight after the download, others need a separate step to install them.
To start the install just double click on the file you downloaded and the install should start.
If that does not work you can download and install Silverlight from here (see on right, Windows runtime)

And you can download QuickTime from here
