How do you check/measure the internet speed connections that you pay for? Thanking you all!!!!

Search in Google for "Broadband Speed Check" and there are loads of sites that offer this.

Here is one as an example

http://www.speedtest.net/

would run a test from a number of different sites (over a number of different days and times) to get an average.

btw Few of us get what we actually pay for.
how can you check "up to"?
As said above, you pay for an "up to" speed. That might be very slow, but it is still "up to" the maximum they quoted you.
I pay for up to 8Mbs but my average connection speed is about 6.5Mbs
I rarely get more than 5Mb.

But I do live a long way from my exchange, so I did not expect anything like the 8 Mbs maximum.
