I lost photo`s of my grandchildren accidentally and, although I found them in the `Re-cycle Bin` and clicked restore, they have not done so. Could anyone tell me where they may have gone? TIA.

I think a restore from the recycle bin puts them back where they came from.

btw, to avoid problems like this in the future ALWAYS backup photographs to a CD or DVD so you know you can never accidently delete them.

Even if you dont back them up to CD or DVD at least make a COPY of the photographs and put then in "spare" folder on the hard disk, or even on a USB memory stick or external hard disk.

I ALWAYS back up my pictures as soon as they are copied from the camera to my PC, that way if I do delete them by mistake, or if the PC ever crashes, I know I have them safely backed up on CD or DVD.
just taking vhg's answer one step further ... if you've deleted them from a camera/mem card/ usb key or similar

you'e got to have the device plugged in when you restore!

often there won't be an error message ... and the files are deleted from the database of files

I deleted them from Picasa 3 by forgetting to `hold` whilst transferring them to another folder.
