HP Laptop 6730 cant get any sound out

hi can anyone help pls. I have a 6730 hp laptop running windows xp, i have tried to play a dvd but cannot get any sound. any ideas please

That is strange because my Lenovo laptop did the same thing the oither week. I couldnt get any sound out of it at all.Couldnt even find it in my computor. Also had trouble doing a Disk Defragment so on friday I took everything off and rebooted it back to factory settings.!! When it came back on the sound was back.!!

select your operating system and download the audio driver and install it.

thank you so much i can now play my dvd and listen to music, but one further question please, how do i adjust the sound on the laptop for example when u turn it on now it is loud lol

look for little speakers in a different colour on 3 of the keys, hold down the FN key and use those to adjust volume.

if it doesn't work go back to that link up there^ and download the quicklaunch drivers and install.

(or just use the volume control down by the clock)
