xp media center login

hi all i have a compaq presario laptop running windows xp media center 2005. it has just started acting up on startup a login window appears asking for a password which i dont have as i have never passworded anything. i press return that takes me to my desk top but with no icons or toolbar then a window appears and says i am logging out ????? and the laptop shuts down HELP please fatgaz

Try to login with administrator account.
When log in scree apear press Ctrl+Alt+Delete key, Now you would have a login box. Type here administrator in "user name" column and hit enter.
