Windows XP Quick launch disappearing

Hi. Each time I start my PC my Quick Launch on the task bar is missing. I have to reopen it via the toolbars. How can I make it stay and behave on powering up? Thk u.

right click on the Quick Launch (when you have it) - then Properties - is the Quick Launch box checked?

Yes it is. Have even gone as far as replacing CMOS battery in case it was that! It's just one of those miniscule annoying things that I want to sort out. Thk u
I had some software once that caused this to happen occasionally - I uninstalled it, and it was fine again. If it has only been doing this for a short while, can you use system restore?

Has done it for a while but just got around tofunsing a fix..... hopefully. It's me v's the pc and it's winning!
