My Media Player on my Philips X58 laptop has just stopped working - I am getting the message 'the file wmploc.dll has a version number of 11.0.6001.7004 where 11.0.6001.7000 was expected, Windows Media Player is not installed properly and must be reinstated' - It then asks me if I want to install the Player from the Microsoft Web site ?

If I accept I am redirected to a site for a download which then tells me it is not compatable with my system - any thoughts would be welcomed - thanks.

You need to change some registry key for reduce this media playre error. If you are able to cahnge some settings in registry then follows these setps:
> Take registry backup
> Remove HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\MediaPlayer\Setup\\wmplayer.exe
> Restart the system once.
