MP4 movies to DVD

I have some short movies taken on a mobile phone. They are currently MP4 format.

I'd like to watch these movies on my DVD player which has the following specs: DVD, CD, CD-R, CD-RW, JPEG, XVID Format.

Anyone know of software that will allow me to convert the MP4 files to XVID Format? Is XVID the correct format?

Well, You need to convert your video to MPEG-2 format and then burn to DVD. you can do it free
