I have been loaned a usb flash drive containing an episode of a tv series that I need to burn to dvd,can someone please explain how I can do this please.
What type of file is it? That is, is it MPG, AVI, DivX, etc? The method is completely different for each.
Depending on your DVD player you may be able to simply burn the file to a disc and just insert it. Of course, you don't want to waste the disc unless they are a few pence.
As I said,I have the flash drive on loan it has to be given back,I want to keep the tv episode,so I need to put it onto dvd, however it's in AVI format on the flash drive so I need to convert it to DVD,do you know a programme that will do this? free if possible. Thanks.
Thanks Chuck,I have done the free download but it would appear that I have to buy it in order to use it, I may have to do this except that this was going to be a 1 off job. are there any free ones out there?
If you haven`t used an avi converter before, be prepared for it to take a long time, and do it when you`re not needing to use computer as it can slow things down to a crawl.
The one I posted a link to is shareware... this means that it may ask you to donate but it is not compulsory and the software should be fully functional without paying a penny.
Chuck, when I open prog (AVS Video Converter) & I click on Convert now,
I get a message 'Warning You are using a non activated version,The watermark banner will be placed in thecentre of the output file'
Vhelpful. The explanation:-
I am collecting a tv series on dvd for a relative but unfortunately I missed the first episode, now I have it on a pen (or flash) drive & want to add to dvd.
Don`t worry about unzipping the file, it is safe.
If you don`t have software to open it, download 7zip.
It`s a very good small programme for unzipping files.
If you need to give the flash drive back, do as vehelpfulguy
suggests, right click the file and send it to your hard drive, then you can convert and burn to dvd in your own time.
Save the file to desktop, so that it`s easily found.
You may take a look at this step by step guide, it will teach you how to convert and burn flash video to DVD. I followed it and successfully burned movie to DVD to play on my home DVD player, it's easy to understand, I think it deserves a try. http://www.reviewstown.com/how-to-burn-avi-div x-movie-to-playable-dvd.html
