A USB dongle is a poor alternative to a landline and ADSL.

They are only really suitable for occasional use and the quality of the connection is dependent on the signal coverage for whatever area. They can also work out a very expensive way to connect for anything other than light use.
Some providers charge over 100 for using 1GB over the allowance, and most of them don`t allow much to begin with.
You can get 24/7 calls and broadband included for 20 per month, including bt landline rental.
My vodafone dongle is useless even when I get a connection just trying to connect to say google takes ages and having done so , trying to get on any site takes ages if at all. When I say slow I mean 5 minutes or more. I've tried to telephone Vodafone for help but after being on hold for 50 minutes I gave up.
