Internet Explorer

Dunno whats happened but everytime i try to log onto internet explorer i get an aplication error messeage then windows closes the program with a data execution prevention message. I have mozilla firefox configured for my work network (on the rig) and cant get that at home either what have i done ???, i tried system restore to a time before firefox configuration but it made no difference , my aol is working fine just seems internet explorer is the problem.

Click start > all programs > accessories > system tools > internet explorer (no add-ons)

this will run IE with all your add-ons disabled, see if you still have the problem, if it works then you know it's one of the add-ons causing a problem.

What version of IE is it anyhow? if it's earlier than 7 then you should really upgrade to a later version.

just done as you said , it then prompted me to dowload IE 8 which i did,, so do you advise me to go through each add on and disable it to see if one is the problem?

Is it on the same website? Try making your homepage something else and see if you still get a problem.

as soon as i access IE from my desktop the problem returns

installing IE8 may solve your problem, if it doesn't and it will still run with no add-ons then yes, you will need to disable all of them and start re-enabling them one by one until you find the problematic one.

though try what Squarebear says too, it may be a problem on that page causing it to crash.

tried all above and windows still shuts the program
