Hi

I use Thunderbird as my email via my Orange livebox. When i'm away from home and using someone else's router, I can get Hotmail ok for obvious reasons but I want to get my email from Thunderbird downloaded to my laptop. What do I need to change to connect to it?

You shouldn't have to change anything to receive your emails, if you want to send emails you will need to change a setting under your SMTP server (outgoing) settings to get thunderbird use "SMTP authentication"

I'll try that, thanks Chuck!
Or you could download portable Thunderbird from here http://portableapps.com/apps/internet/thunderb ird_portable
Then you could put this on a memory stick and run it on any computer having internet access but without the need to setup your email account.
