Unlocking DVD players

Morning,

I have just found out it is possible to unlock a DVD player to enable me to watch Region 1 DVDs.

Can anyone tell me how I do this?

I have a Sony HXD970. This is a hard-drive and DVD play and about two years old.

If anyone can help, could I please have very basic instructions.

One of the links suggested I use either a Robusto 3 (URD 3435) or URD 8910.

I have run several searches but am unable to find either of these remote controls.

You don't happen to know where I can get these?
