Saving text messages

I have a Sony Ericsson W890i that keeps switching itself off, and needs a firmware update, problem is i'll loose all my messages. Is there a program that will allow me to save all text messages to my pc, and then transfer them back once the update is complete. i know there are programs such as MyPhoneExplorer that i can back up messages to, but i really want to put them back on my phone.

I know this will probably sound a bit obvious but may be a simple way of getting round the problem - If you have an old spare phone with an active sim card or perhaps use another family member/friends phone, simply forward the messages to them then just forward them again to your own phone when it's fixed. Saves messing around with PC program. Might take a while but with most contracts allowing lot of free texts this solution may suit.
