Hi, my Mother-in-law has a problem with her pc. She has Vista home premium and on the log in page when she clicks on her name it comes up: The user profile service has failed the logon. User profile cannot be loaded. There are 4 users on the pc but she is the only Administrator. I have tried going in under another account to manage her account that way but it asks for administrator password, but as far as she knows, there is no password set up.
Does anyone have any suggestions?
Many thanks x

Sounds like her user account ihas become corrupted. I'm not Vista savvy, but you could try:-

(i) Boot into 'safe' mode and try a system restore; if that fails to cure, try:-
(ii) This tutorial at http://www.vistax64.c...le-cannot-loaded.html
(iii) If (i) or (ii) don't work, you'll probably have to boot from the recovery discs and re-install to factory defaults.

Hi Sputnik. Already tried the things suggested. Luckily she backs all her photos etc up onto disc, so are going to have to reinstall.
