Colour printing
I've just tried TWO new new printer ink cartridges, hp 23 tri-colour, the kind I have use for years without any problem. For some reason the colours are wrong - just when I am trying to print personal Christmas cards for friends and family. Red prints out as yellow or brown, and blue is greenish. Has anyone else had this experience please and discovered what the problem is and how to to deal with it. Thanks.

It's usually caused by the partial blockage of the jets. (i.e. there's not a full blockage, which would cause banding, but the flow of ink is partially obstructed, resulting in the wrong mix of colours).
Run the printer's nozzle-cleaning utility (using the 'deep clean' option if there's one available). You might need to run it a few times (which, annoyingly, wastes quite a bit of ink) but it should clear the problem.

Many thanks Buenchico. Not having had the problem before I didn't know where to look. I eventually found 'clean print cartridges' as an option in the same place as 'align print cartridges', but hadn't noticed it until now. It cured the problem with one of the two cartridges, but the second one (which had been in storage quite a long time) didn't respond in the same way so regrettably I've dumped it. You advice much appreciated.
