mp3 files on a data disc
I have made many CD & CDRW discs with mp3 files on which will then play on a DVD player as music. This works without a problem as long as I dont 'bury' the files in too deep with lots of sub-folders.
Can I do a similar job with DVD (4.7Gig) disks?? Will they still play on a bog standard DVD player??
Reason I am asking is that a friend has had his PC die on himand I have managed to salvage the old HDs with over 2500 mp3 files on to burn for him. Some of these are rare tracks - so he tells me. Now I estimate this will be about 20 700 Mb CDS or more so I was just wondering if I can do a similar thing on DVDs and thereby just have 4 of them ???

Mine would play them as long as they are not more than one folder down and there are not more than 99 files in each folder, but there is no such thing as a "standard" for this, all DVD players are different
