windows7 and youtube

I recently asked why I cannot watch a video on youtube without it stopping every 15 seconds or so and then playing (again for 15 seconds or so). A reply suggested that it could be an internet connection but this is not the case. I have no problem with my old computer (XP) so it cannot be the internet download speed. Has anybody had similar problems and if so have they been cured. Alternatively have any techies out there got some advice/information which might help me. I am not particularly good with computers!
