Boiler energy rating

Re the proposed scrappage scheme for inefficient boilers - how can I find out the energy rating of my existing 16 year old oil boiler that was in the house when we moved here. I want to see if I may be eligible for up to £400 off the cost of a new energy efficient one. It's a Eurostar 110 (110k Bhu)?
It doesn't have the rating stamped anywhere on it that I can see. Any info rec'd with thanks.

What you are looking for is the SEDBUK rating. I have previously used this website to get such information.

However tonight the whole site seems to be down - probably overloaded by people after the same info as you want. Try at some randomly obscure time of night perhaps. Post again if it doesn't give what you want - there are various other ways and means.

I think it was almost identical to the 'Trianco Contractor 110' (Trianco made the Explorer 110) It was rated at 32kw. This converts to 109248 BTUs - near enough your 110k BTUs.

Ooops! Your right BM. It was output rating I had in mind. Anyway, for the Contractor 110, it was SEDBUK 'B' rated.

So if it's B rated, Catmando, that's pretty good and although I don't know the fine details of what Darling is proposing, I doubt that you will get a trade-in. It's F and G-rated boilers he wants on the scrapheap.

would it not qualify because of the age of the appliance? 16 years is a long time and efficiency wise it cannot compare to a modern unit

Durr.............. if it's 'B' rated, it's 'B' rated, irrespective of when it was manufactured.

catmando if you google government boiler scrappage you will find out that its only for G rated boilers or worse so if you have correctly identified your boiler and thus your rating, you appear to be a long way off.
the Corgi trust in their recent report on CO deaths and comparisons over the last decade specificially state that in boiler related incedents, boilers over 16 years old or more have a 1.6 times the risk of being involved in a CO incedent compared to newer boilers.
now a cynical person might say that is scare mongering to create sales but they do have a point
i think that your unit at a design age of say 17-20 years can,t compare to todays B rated boilers and i would change it for a more efficient, cheaper to run boiler. i certainly would,nt spend money repairing it.
however i cannot fault you for trying to saving money,
you are not over 60 by any chance, if i may be so bold to ask? if you are google warmfront heating rebate
