Change of email address on facebook

I got my laptop for xmas, so don't use the home desktop now. I used the desktop when I signed up to facebook, so when got laptop went in to change email in my profile. When you click on change email they tell you you will get email to click on link so you can make the change, an email goes to the original email address saying one has been sent to the new one but when go into my mails there is nothing.
Wandering if anyone knows why ?????

Why would you need to change your email address just because you are using a different pc?

my hub uses desk top so when i got my laptop with my own email address i wanted all the peple that post me on facebook their messages go to my email not desktop

Have you checked your spam and junk folders?

when I changed mine, it went into junk mail

You can have more than one email address on a desktop PC.

In fact with something like googlemail the email addres is not tied to the PC or laptop, you can logon via a browser anywhere in the world.

thanks for all your answers so far, my hubby looking into the spam/junk mail thing for me, will let you know if that brings up anything....thanks again for your help
