A curious things has happened to me and I wondered if you might be able to enlighten me with your pearls of wisdom!
On three occasions in the last week - the middle finger of my right hand has turned white and gone numb.... The fingers either side remain pink... and the white finger feels colder to touch and tingly numb.
Firstly - will it fall off? I suspect not! Secondly - should I be worried. Thirdly - what on earth is causing it!
It stays white for about 5 minutes and then with me wiggling and clenching a fist it it turns pink again as if nothing had happened.
I have been driving on the three occasions it has happened - so was wondering if I am gripping the wheel too hard and trapping a blood vessel or something!
Would think it's a combination of cold weather and you clenching the stearing wheel two hard which is affecting the finger. Get some driving gloves. xx
ewwww...
Still at least it wont drop off!! I'm safe there! Might make skiing a bit uncomfortable this year! Never experienced this before.. but will be packing some little hand warmers!!!
Will if fall off?............no likely in your lifetime...;-)
Should I be worried??.........no big deal.
What is causing it?...Carpal arterial spasm, due to any of the causes highlighted by Lofty/Dennis.
Often associated with the development of Carpal Tunnel Syndrome.....time will tell.
I had a panic attack in the summer when my whole hand turned blue..... I was sure it was something to do with my heart. It was blue dye from the inside of one of the gardening gloves which had got soaking wet!!
