media player not deleting

I have some film trailer video clips that media player will not delete, I found the storage folder and emptied that, which means the clips won't play, but still can't get the "film frame" icons out of media player even tho i'm right clicking ang hitting the delete, nothing moves I've tried dragging and dropping to recycle but nothing moves. Would appreciate any input

make sure the file is not in use with another program. some times this stops them being deleted.
