If you have a VGA output connector, then you can covert the audio and video analog signal to digital with a VGA to HDMI converter, these are about £50 plus VGA and HDMI cables.
If you have a DVI output then there are straight dvi to hdmi cables, but you need to make sure your laptop video audio output is digital otherwise you need to convert the signal from analog. The DVI - HDMI cable only converts the connectors not the signal

How would your laptop know to "send" the video signals to your USB socket?
It would not just magically go there.
The reason HDMI works is because HDMI is an output for video.
USB isn't, it is just a general connector for all sorts of devices: a mouse, a keyboard, a printer.
I say again, how would your laptop know to send the video to that USB socket?
