My Laptop is "Bluescreening"

Any idea how i can sort this problem out, just took the laptop to a computer shop the bloke told me what the problem was but when he told me it will cost at LEAST £50 to fix i nearly fell off the floor. The reason for this problem he said could be anynumber of reasons, but the problem suddenly occured when my partner was making changes to her facebook profile.

Any help or advice would be appreciated...........

£50 is cheap ... I spent 15 hours reloading Windows and resetting/reloading all programmes on a friend's PC. It takes ages.
You could learn and do it yourself, but if you don't know your way around a PC and OS, pay the cash .
