HI, I have a working network virgin broadband connected to a soho router which is connected to the xbox and two computers and the netgear WG602 wireless access point for my laptop.

The problem is my netgear doesnt have a security key, but everytime i try to log on using the specified IP from netgear of 192.168.0.227 i get no luck i've tried the reset button but still no luck, i've checked IP config to check the gateway but that refers to the router i'm lost now and hoping some IT genius can help me out

Saying that you "get no luck" really doesn't help at all, as that tells people absolutely nothing.

What *SPECIFICALLY* happens / doesn't happen...?

resetting the access point doesn't help me find the default IP of 192.168.0.227 which netgear specify it is
What have you tried? Can you ping it?
Question Author

Try opening a command prompt and running

ipconfig /all <Enter>

That might reveal the router's address.

If not, I think you've got very little choice than to ping each address in the 192.168.0.x and 192.168.1.x ranges...
I think the IP address you need is 192.168.0.1 or 192.168.2.1
This should bring up user name and password (default name admin and defualt password is password)

Not unless it's been changed from the default:
