Zip Files

I have received what I hope is a series of photos from a friend, he's bundled them in a zip folder. The folder is 12Mb (file properties says so), yet when I look in the folder there's nothing there except a file markes "ds_store", which appears to have no size value.

The folder is 12Mb so clearly there's something in it, but there's nothing I can get hold of. The zip file was created on an "apple" machine, I'm running windows XP.

Is there something fundamental that I'm missing here, or might there be a fault with the folder?
