anotheroldgit has advised me to bunch all my favourites in one file,..seems like an excellent idea, but this old git doesn`t have the slightest idea how to so do. Perhaps ,(if he is up and about this early) he would inform.

Perhaps he means put it in a folder in favourites, in which case open favs and right click anywhere and an option to create a folder appears. Click on this and somewhere in your list a new folder appears, waiting to be named. Type in your heading and drag your relevant files into it. Do this as many times as you require to tiy everthing up.
Open IE
File .. Import & Export .. Export to a file...
Favorites ... Next ... Select location .. save and ok.
Click to open an amazing structure of clickable links in one HTML page.
This is how IE backs up your Favorites.
