Hello. Please can you tell me (in simple terms) the difference between a notepad and a laptop computer. My sister and I are going to buy one for Mum, who is 78 and don't know what would be best. Mum won't want to download music or films etc but she'll want to surf the net. Also any advice about the use of a dongle would be very helpful too. Thank you.
YOu can use a dongle on a notepad, which is lighter and smaller than a laptop. Notepad might not have capacity to view DVDs or download stuff but you say you don't want that anyway.
^ sorry that was misleading, you can download on a notepad but the memory is smaller, and there is probably no facility to load a DVD into the machine.
^^ they are bothe misleading: There is absolutely no difference between a notepad and a laptop. Boxtops appears to be confusing notebooks with netbooks. Generally speaking a netbook has no DVD or CD drive, usually has a lower spec processor, generally has a much smaller screen and a longer battery life.
You can use a dongle on both a netbook and a notebook
