just wondering i want a new sky+ box as mine has started jumping and now not recording programs properly. If i upgrade to sky+ HD i have to pay an extra £10 per month to get a free box, as i have a HD TV can i not just buy myself a sky+HD box at the extra cost and not pay the £10 per month but will all the channels be in High Def?

You can get the Sky HD + Box for free but they will charge you accordingly for the priviledge of watching the HD Channels. They have you by the short and curlies in other words.

I have a Sony HDTV but have opted out of the Sky HD+ Package for now because of cost. Instead I have Sky+ which I am happy with, plus the fact that my TV has a superb picture as it is. It's all down to costs Ploppy1999 and what you can afford.
