Gmail Notifyer

I am running Firefox & Windows 7, I have made several attempts to download gmail notifyer & every attempt has failed to work, when I open gmail normally, no problem but after each download of notifyer I get a popup saying cannot connect to gmail then when I delete notifyer all goes back to normal. Does anyone know if this a general fault of Windows 7. ?

Perhaps there's a bug involved. Maybe you could email Gmail and let them know the problem you're having. I've emailed them on several occasions and they've always got back to me.
