wonky printer
3 Answers
I have a canon printer IP4200. I started using some "compatible" cartridges instead of the canon ones and ever since, when printing text, one line every paragraph is sort of split in two, horizontally, and wonky. I have tried doing the tests - and I think the print head alignment is wrong. I also had a piece of trapped paper and in pulling it out, I think I may have dislodged something.
Any idea how I can fix this without buying a new printer?
Thanks!

So I came to the conclusion that the manufacturers make their printers so that they give you problems when you use cartridges other than their official ones.
Incidentally I now have a Canon but have only used official cartridges so far.

Try taking out the head and washing in warm water. Dry it thoroughly and then run the maintenance and alignment tests. If that does not work search the net for a replacement head.
They are expensive but if you search hard you will find one at a reasonable price.
I did but I cant remember now where from.
I like my Canons features and a new head has given a new lease of life!
