Which cables do I need...?
I have an .. Acer Aspire 5315 laptop... It is running on Vista...I also have a Panasonic HD tv.
My query is... which are the best cables to connect the laptop to the TV. I would probably want to use iPlayer etc ... and obviously need the sound to work.
The laptop has various outputs/connectors including ...
s-video ...
VGA-15 pin HD D-sub (HD-15)
High speed 4 pin USB type A
mini-phone 3.5mm
The TV has 3 spare HDMI inputs as well as a 15 pin sub input, USB and also a network connection.
..and finally close to the TV.. I have my router..the laptop runs well wireless, but would it be best to use a network cable direct to the router.
I've got a feeling I need to connect the 15 pin sub to the HDMI on the telly.
Just dont want to buy the wrong thing... Hope this makes sense , I know someone will have the answer...

So does that mean if I get a cable with a 15 pin sub at one end ...and a HDMI at the other, this will deal with sound and vision..?...a bit like this one.

Or will I still need a 3.5 jack lead..?...I dont mind buying it, I'd just prefer less wires.
