I am in Terminal 5. I was just about to buy a Samsung N220 netbook for my wifes birthday from Dixons airside. The reason to buy it there was they had a price promise to match Amazon, John Lewis etc. At the till a manager refused the price promise due to it was just for laptops not netbooks!!! I stated Dixons online had the same price. Ah, but we r Dixon Travel he said. Dixon rip off more like. Bang went his sale. I have £300 max for this netbook. It took ages to save for and I think she will like the Samsung N220 (Amazon price £289). Before I buy it off Amazon are there any other netbooks worth considering ie the Toshiba? Have until 1600 2 decide b4 I am out of here. Thank u.

To be honest I think you are on track with the Samsung It's nothing special at the rrp and perhaps a bit heavy (1.3 Kgs), but you get a good price and it's good value. It's really cool looking too. If you get the chance to upgrade the RAM to 2GB I think you should do so.

The only complication is that both the Samsung N140 and Toshiba NB200-11L offer similar dimensions and battery lives, and yet can cost considerably less. Neither of those two models offer the Intel Atom N450 processor, but since this makes no real difference to overall performance, that’s not really a factor.
things to look at on netbooks

screen size (I would fo for a 10.1inch one)
hard drive size (160GB minimum)
memory size (1Gb minimum)
Operating system installed (Linux is cheaper, windows obviously will be more compatible with existing stuff you have)

Other than the above they are all much the same as they are all based on the same CPU and same basic chipset.
I forgot to mention, the Toshiba weighs more and isn't nearly as cute.
If I recall correctly the Samsung comes with Windows 7 Starter Edition.

Thk u all! =)
Samsung has added two new netbooks to their “N” series of netbooks, the Samsung N130 and N140. powered by the Intel Atom 1.6GHz N270 processor, 1GB of RAM, a 160GB hard drive, 3x USB 2.0 ports.
You won't regret buying it. :ole0:
