What laptop?

I am after buying a new laptop but don't know much about computers so could anybody give me some
advice please, I have been told that because I have lots of photo's and a large music library I need
a laptop with big memory, I was also told to go for a dual processor (whatever that is) and I also need
a DVD/CD writer inbuilt along with WiFi.
I only have about £400 to spend, so can anybody recommend a laptop to buy?
