All my printing has turned yellow!

A few of my ink cartridges needed changed, which I have done, but now everything is coming out yellow.
I have tried doing nozzle checks and have reset it to default settings but it is still the same.
Anyone know what the prob might be?

you might need to do a load of head cleans.

nozzle checks just print a pattern of inks and don't clean.

Yes, they are cartridges to fit that specific model of printer chuck.

The strange thing is that every time I try to print something off it comes out with only yellow and black showing on the page. However when I look at the ink levels, it is the cyan and magenta that are going down. Can't figure it out at all.

what do you get when you print a nozzle check? do you get all the colours or is that yellow too?

You need to clean the heads, what cartridges are full or low is irrelevant.

Not quite the same thing. Have you refilled the cartridges or are they the official cartridges supplied by the printer manufacturer?

Woofgang - when I do the nozzle test I just see the black and yellow boxes.

Ratter - I have cleaned the heads.

Squarebear - the cartridges are neither refilled or 'own brand' (in this case Epson). They are new but an independant brand. My printer model is listed as compatible on the box.

It can sometimes take a few nozzle cleans to clear a problem. Make sure all the colours are loaded in the correct place and are fitted ok.

TTG - I have checked and double checked that they are in the right position tooo many times!

epson can play up if you don't use their own cartridges, one of the reasons we switched to canon. Have you used these compatibles before?
if a nozzle is blocked, you might need to do 20 or30 nozzle cleans to clear it. Is there a "deep clean" or "head clean" in the utilities

I would advise you use the correct cartridges for the printer made by the manufacturer. To try and save a bit of money by using cheaper brands will often lead to printing issues and may even damage your printer.

Its my first time replacing the cartridges woofgang so I am in new territory! I have done what I think the manual called an 'internal clean' of the printer.

So it isn't likely to be any other problem apart from the type of cartridge squarebear?

Impossible to tell for certain without seeing your printer but I would certainly advise you try official cartridges before looking for other reasons, even if it's just to rule the cartridge out (assuming the compatible cartridges haven' already damaged your printer).

Not always true though as I have been using compatible and/or refilled cartridges for years and years with no problems.

shivvy the other thing to point out is that using non original carts invalidates your guarantee, we use originals for the first year, then switch but as I have said, epson were a so and so...Canon much better
