Problems with keyboard functions

please excuse lack of capitals and commas etc as my keyboard will not reproduce any number or lower characters
i have joined a keyboard to my laptop but still have the same problem
can anyone help? i can do capital letters if i do caps lock but this is really frustrating:

Check everything is set to UK English and standard keyboard layout.

nothing to help me after the f one key
keyboard layout is the same as normal english default too (after using the link and following guide correctly)
ihave just seen that there is a computer section in the technology section i think i willl post my same question there too
