Having created a document in microsoft publisher, is it possible to view it on a PC which doesnt have publisher?  Ie is it possible to open it in another programme, I have tried notepad with no success

Simple answer, no.

Not even in Microsoft Word.

This might help you.

In Publisher, if you choose "save as", then from the "save as type" box you can choose to save your document as a JPEG( .jpg), BMP or GIF file.

This means your document will be viewable on anyone's computer as a single image. They can view it, but they will not be able to edit it or adjust it as they would a *.pub file.

What I do is turn the Publisher document into .pdf format.

There are various programs to do this ( I use shareware called pdf995, but I think there are some free ones). Most computers already have a version of Adobe Reader installed with which to view the result.
