Just bought the wife a new Acer and she hates it.

Now....all she does on a P.C is send emails, buy goods on'line which we can ill afford and book airline tickets and hotels.

No pictures, no music, no videos.

Any suggestions?

I'm not sure what suggestions you expect here sqad.

I see 3 courses of action if the computer does everything that is wanted of it and the wife just "doesn't like it"

1) tell her tough and wait until she gets used to it
2) get another laptop that the wife likes
3) get another wife that likes the laptop.

I have an Acer - mine has a caps lock indicator.

Internet Explorer, go to Tools, Internet Options and click on the Advanced tab. Look for the Multimedia section and make sure the box that says "Show Pictures" is checked.
For Firefox, go to Tools, Options and click on the Content icon. Make sure the "Load images automatically" box is checked as well.
