firewalls,two?

ive searched the internet somewhat for a straight forward answer but as yet not found one in layman's language
if my Siemens router fire wall is set to on (its a wired connection) do i need my comodo firewall on too if not which is best to be left on for best protection

The firewall in your router is a hardware based forewall, the one on your computer is a software based firewall.

I would have them both.

As VHG said use them both.

Firstly there is no harm in having two inbound firewalls if one is hardware and one is software.

Secondly, the firewall on your router won't filter any outbound traffic, the comodo firewall will.
