The fan appears to be noisy on and off whilst I`m typing or browsing. Does that mean the PC needs cleaning? A chime just sounded and the fan is now quiet. I`m confused.....now what? Help.tia

Fan might need cleaning. Read manual for your computer on how to open case. Sometimes you can download manuals from the manufacturers website.

The fan changes speed depending on how hard the PC is working.
